A surreal image of a boat perched on the roof of a building in the aftermath of last year?s Japanese tsunami is among the winning entries in this year?s China International Press Photo Contest.
Japanese photojournalist Yasuyoshi Chiba won the Silver award in the ?War and disaster story? category for his picture of Nozomi Sabanai and her sister assessing damage in Otsuchi, after the quake struck northern Japan on 11 March 2011.
Chiba works for news agency AFP whose photographers won two other awards in the competition.
Reuters photographer Goran Tomasevic, from Serbia, secured the Gold prize for a series of photos entitled ?War in Libya?.
The contest pulled in more than 30,000 images from over 2,300 photographers worldwide.
