Renowned music photographer Jill Furmanovsky has strolled off with a top prize in a garden photography competition.

Jill won the World Heritage category with a mosaic of images entitled ?Roman Road to Glastonbury Tor? (pictured).

Meanwhile, Nicola Browne – a photographer from London – took top spot in the Nurtured Garden category and the overall prize with an image called ?Poplars?, described as an abstract view of tree trunks.

The competition ? hosted by the Garden Photographers? Association ? made AP?s News pages earlier this year when organisers effectively banned pure photography enthusiasts from entering the contest (see AP News 14 January 2006). This was despite the competition?s website stating that the contest was open to ?talented and gifted photographers, photography assistants and students, who aspire to work in photography on a professional level?.
