A new 10-million-pixel digital compact from Hewlett Packard (HP) is due to land in the UK later this year, the company?s UK office has confirmed.
Features on board the Photosmart R967 are expected to include a 3in LCD screen, 3x optical zoom and 17 shooting modes.
Also included will be Adaptive Lighting Bracketing ? a feature designed to allow users to adjust high contrast images to ?bring faces out of shadows and details out of backgrounds?. The camera automatically captures three versions of the same scene ? one with adaptive lighting off, one with the feature on ?low? and the other set to ?high?.
Also on board is HP?s in-camera panorama stitching mode, which allows the user to join together up to five images and save them as one picture for printing, prior to downloading to a computer.
UK pricing and launch date are yet to be announced.
The camera ? due for its world debut in September – is one of 11 new digital models announced in the United States, where it is due to sell for under $450.
