George was presented with Fellowship for a portfolio of 20 commissioned images he submitted to the SWPP panel, which was judged to have achieved the highest level of professional standards in imaging, creativity, presentation and behaviour.

The SWPP has an international membership and the Fellowship is the highest distinction the society offers, requiring the highest standard of technical competence and artistry. It requires photographers to take advice and mentorship from other members who have achieved the rank of Fellow.

At the event, held at the Hilton Metropole London George described himself as ‘Truly humbled by the experience. As a specialist in high-end and commercial portraiture with a conceptual angle, George has experience shooting promotional photography for musicians and bands as well as advertising campaigns.

Speaking to AP, George said: ‘I was there for the judging, and it was stressful! It took an hour and a half. I was literally sweating as they left to deliberate for 20 minutes, and then came back in and started looking at pictures again.’

‘I was surprised to win because my style is pretty different from the majority of photography you see in the society. A Fellowship is something they only give out to about one percent of society members, so I was very pleased.’
