The 39-year-old faces 12 charges, three of which relate to alleged incidents that took place between 22 July 2007 and 13 August 2012, the date he was arrested.
The man is alleged to have ‘outraged public decency by indecently taking covert photographs in a public place’, said West Mercia Police in a statement today.
He also faces six charges related to making indecent images of children, one of distributing an indecent photo of a child and one charge of attempting to incite a young girl to engage in sexual activity.
He has also been charged with possessing ‘extreme pornographic images’.
Police add that the man, who is from Shrewsbury and has not been named, has been bailed and is due to appear before Shrewsbury magistrates on 7 November.
At the time of his arrest, police said he had been seen taking pictures of children using a mobile phone.
A member of the public initially reported the man to security staff at the bus station.
