Organisers are calling for entries into this year?s Canon Female Photojournalist Award.
Organised in association with the French Association of Women Journalists the contest boasts a top prize of ?8,000 which will go towards completion of a one-year documentary project.
The prize will be presented at the Visa pour l?image Festival in Perpignan, France later this year.
An exhibition of winning work from the chosen project will appear at the festival the following year.
Applicants are selected on the presentation of their project, previous work, as well as ?journalistic thought and relevance of the chosen subject?.
Last year?s winner was French photographer Véronique de Viguerie.
The closing date is 31 May.
