Canon is poised to launch the EOS 5D – a £2500, full-frame digital SLR which boasts an effective resolution of 12.8 million pixels.
Billed as a more affordable, more compact alternative to Canon?s flagship EOS-1Ds Mark II, key features include three frames per second shooting for up to 60 JPEG images and simultaneous recording in RAW and JPEG format.
Heralding what Canon claims is a ?new era of discreet, full-frame photography? the 5D is due out in October with a body only price of £2539.99. It is also expected to be available in a kit with a 24-105mm lens at an unconfirmed price of around £3,100.
