Havant Camera Club in Hampshire is mourning the sudden death of Julie Durn, a former double-winner of AP?s Amateur Photographer of the Year (APOY) competition.
Julie, who died after a fall at home on 23 October, was aged 68 and had served as a key member of Havant Camera Club for more than 25 years.
She won APOY in 1991 and 1992 – competitions co-judged on both occasions by the late Lord Lichfield.
A statement released by Havant Camera Club said: ?Julie was a key member of the selection committee, choosing the images to represent the club regionally and nationally. She represented the club for many years at meetings of the Southern Photographic Federation and co-ordinated the results of club members in external competitions.?
Many of Julie?s colour transparency images helped see the club to victory at a host of regional competitions.
Paying tribute to Julie?s ?tremendous photographic talent? the club added: ?Her images of sailboarders in wild weather, of beautiful landscapes in magic light and of critical moments in cricket matches will remain in our minds.?
Julie leaves a husband Steve and sons Jonathan and Richard.
