Press photographers held a minute’s silence in Downing Street as a tribute to their colleague Alisdair Macdonald who died of a suspected heart attack last night while on a photo assignment.
As we reported earlier, Alisdair died while covering a routine news story for London’s Evening Standard. He was 67.
Among the first to pay tribute was photographer Paul Stewart. He told us: ‘He was a really nice bloke and a fantastic ideas man. He would never waste a roll of film.’
Paul added: ‘We are losing the real characters, the ones who are larger than life. ‘
