Wex Photographic hopes that the event, near Tower Bridge, will become a key fixture in the photography calendar.
Major brands including Nikon, Olympus, Pentax, Sony, Fuji and Panasonic are due to exhibit at the show, which takes place in a three-storey Victorian warehouse and is aimed at ‘all skill levels’. Lens makers including Sigma, Zeiss, Tamron, Tokina and Samyang will join accessory suppliers such as Tiffen, Manfrotto and Lee Filters at the event which opens from 10am-4.30pm.
Canon, for example, will hold free ‘Wild Arena’ workshops and seminars to demonstrate the world of macro photography, where staff will be on hand to answer questions and advise on the best kit to use.
One floor will be dedicated to videographers, while a drone section will feature the latest kit from DJI.
The Wex London Lens Show is free to enter, though tickets must be purchased for the photo walks.
Louis Wahl, chief customer officer at Wex Photographic, said: ‘With a broad range of experiences, activities and gear from Wex, Fixation and all the leading brands, the show will appeal to everyone with an interest in photography.
‘Whether you’re a beginner looking for the inspiration to replace your first kit lens or a professional keen to stay up-to-date with the latest high-end glass, our first Wex London Lens Show is for you.’
Wex says its staff will be available to handle sales, repairs and maintenance needs.
There will also be ‘show-day deals’, plus a free prize draw in a tie-up with Olympus and Lensbaby.
The Wex London Lens Show takes place at 47-49 Tanner Street, London SE1 3LP.
