Frank Hatton ? a man who spent more than 50 years in the photographic industry and who established the Photo Marketing Association?s (PMA) UK office – has died.
In 1988 Hatton became the first UK director of PMA – an international trade association whose membership consists of photographic retailers and processors. He died on 24 June after a long battle against leukaemia. He was 79.
?Frank will be remembered as a real gentleman by all who came into contact with him,? said a PMA spokesman.
Hatton brought to PMA a wealth of experience in the UK photographic trade which included directorship of Sangers photographic division in Birmingham during the 1950s.
He went on to become chairman and chief executive of Sangers after it became a public company. He retired from Sangers in 1986, serving as a consultant the following year and retired as director of the PMA?s UK activities in 2002.
PMA has more than 20,000 members worldwide and aims to expand ?the consumer, commercial and industrial markets? of its members and ?increase their profitability?. For details call 0870 2404542.
