Rotation of the X-A2’s screen triggers the operation of the new eye detection AF (designed to automatically focus on a subject’s eyes), in a bid to make it easier for users to shoot self-portraits.
The 3in display has a resolution of 920,000 dots.
The Fujifilm X-A2 is due out in March, priced £449.99 with a 16-50mm lens.
The X-A2 carries a 16.3-million-pixel, APS-C sized, imaging sensor and EXR Processor II engine, plus an ISO that can be extended to 25,600.
Features also include Fuji’s Classic Chrome film simulation mode, which aims to produce deeper colours and richer tones.
Meanwhile, Fuji has revamped two kit lenses to reveal the 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OIS II and 50-230mm f/4.5-6.7 OIS II, both claimed to deliver improved performance in an updated design.
The 16-50mm lens has a claimed minimum working focusing distance of 15cm, for example.
Fuji has also unveiled a new ‘super-compact and ultra-lightweight’ X-series fixed-lens camera, the XQ2, that houses a 4x f/1.8 lens and a 2/3in imaging sensor.
The XQ2 borrows many of its features from the Fujifilm X30.
Fuji claims the XQ2 is one of the most pocketable advanced cameras around, measuring 100 x 58.5 x 33.3mm.
The 4x lens is designed to deliver the 35mm viewing-angle equivalent of a 25-100mm zoom.
The XQ2 can autofocus in 0.06secs, according to Fuji, which will launch the camera in March at an expected price of £329.99.
