Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe is to star in a film comedy called The Amateur Photographer, according to a report in Variety magazine.

Set in the United States in the 1970s the movie will depict a ?young man who discovers his calling after being drafted by the denizens of a sleepy little New England mill town to serve as a photographer of their most intimate moments?, reports Variety.

?He battles local authorities while bringing a bit of a velvet revolution to the community,? writes Variety?s Jeff Sneider.

Radcliffe, who is currently rehearsing for a production on Broadway, was not available for comment at the time of writing.

Filming for The Amateur Photographer, which is based on a book of the same name, is due to begin next year.
