Ilford Photo has confirmed its ?total commitment? to b&w products ? including paper – four months after the Ilford brand was brought back to life in a management buyout.

Ilford Photo?s chairman and managing director Phil Harris said: ?It has been a pretty hectic four months but we now have the company on a strong basis and ready to take on the world in our endeavours to revitalise the Ilford name.?

The news that the manufacture of Ilford b&w papers continues is particularly timely coming just days after Kodak announced the end of its traditional b&w paper production.

Ilford Photo has also confirmed that it will continue to make b&w film and photographic chemicals.

Ilford Photo was formed in February after Ilford Imaging UK went into receivership last year with the loss of more than 300 jobs. This followed what the receiver described as ?considerable pressure? on the monochrome market brought about by the growth in digital imaging.

Based in Mobberley, Cheshire, Ilford Photo ? the trading name of Harman Technology Ltd – employs 400 people.
