On track for an imminent UK release, the Insta360 Nano is planning to become the first HD camera to shoot and live-stream HD 360°/VR photos and video straight from an iPhone.
Compatible with the iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6s and 6s Plus, the Insta360 Nano will connect to the handset via USB – and will automatically boot the Nano’s dedicated app. It can also reportedly act as a stand-alone module that can be attached to helmets, drones and selfie sticks – albeit without the benefit of a screen – thanks to an in-built 800 mAh battery and 64GB memory card.
Featuring two 210° fish-eye lenses, one on the back and one on the front, the Insta360 Nano should be able to capture just about everything around it, ready for sharing.

According to its creators, Arashi Vision, the gadget’s box will even be able to transform into a Google Cardboard viewer, allowing those without pre-existing VR headsets the ability to get in on the 360° action – which could prove rather useful when marketing the device. “We expect the Insta360 Nano to blast the market for 360-degree cameras wide open. The Nano sets a new price point for virtual reality: at under $200, it brings the ability to live-stream and share 360-degree VR movies to everyone,” stated founder Liu Jingkang.
Already out in the US, the Insta360 Nano will be available from Amazon UK soon, at $199. Check back on AP later to see our review!
