Actor Jude Law will not face charges following an alleged assault against a photographer in London.

A paparazzi photographer clashed with the actor outside a London restaurant on 23 July.

In a statement, seen by Amateur Photographer, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said today: ‘A careful analysis of the specific evidence in this case, which included photographs and eye witness statements, indicates that Mr Law had no intention to assault anyone.’

The CPS added: ‘While Mr Law accepted that he may have come into contact with someone whilst attempting to make his way to his car, it is highly likely that a court would decide his actions were reasonable given that his path was deliberately impeded by a crowd of photographers.

‘Accordingly, there is insufficient evidence to charge him with any offence.’

The CPS said it would take no further action against the actor.
