A top prize of £10,000 is on offer in this year?s Landscape Photographer of the Year, which has just opened for entries.

Set up by landscape ace Charlie Waite – and now in its second year – the contest climaxes with an eight-week showcase of the best images at the National Theatre in London.

Last year’s contest was won by Amateur Photographer reader Jon Gibbs.

All entries must feature scenes from the UK or Channel Islands. Entrants can live anywhere in the world.

Backed by The Sunday Times and leading UK tourist agencies the competition is split into four categories: Classic view; Living the view; Your view and Phone view.

Entry fees range from £7 for one image, up to £25 for up to 15 images.
