Lord Lichfield?s son has said his late father would have felt ?honoured and delighted? with news that a photography competition has been launched in his name.
The Shugborough Estate, Lord Lichfield?s ancestral home in Staffordshire, has now released details of the competition which is open to both amateur and professional photographers.
Backed by Lichfield Studios and Olympus the top prize is an Olympus E-400 digital SLR.
?Photographers are being encouraged to visit the estate to capture their own memorable images ? just as Patrick Lichfield did during his lifetime,? said a Shugborough spokeswoman.
As a child Lord Lichfield took many of his photographs within the parkland and gardens at Shugborough (pictured), where his first camera and some of his earliest shots, are still on display.
Lord Lichfield, who was a cousin to The Queen, died in 2005.
His son, Thomas, the sixth Earl of Lichfield, said: ?I am sure my father would have been most honoured and delighted at the prospect of this photographic competition taking place at Shugborough.?
