Panoramic photographs captured by a digital camera that produces 160-million-pixel images will go on show at the Focus on Imaging show in Birmingham from 22-25 February.
Four, 8ft-long, prints by professional photographer David Osborn will be displayed in what is being hailed as the first public exhibition of such pictures.
Osborn used a Seitz 6x17cm Digital, a scanning camera, claimed to be capable of capturing 160MP images in one second.
‘Of course photographers have been able to print big for years but there has always been a corresponding fall-off in quality,’ said Osborn. ‘Here you can see every little detail – the scrape of mortar around every brick of these buildings.’
He added: ‘Prints like this create an entirely different quality, so life-like you feel as if you are looking through a window on to the subject.’
The images were printed on Innova Art paper and will go on display at the Innova stand (C4).
