Metz has released two new flashguns in the UK, the Mecablitz 58 AF-2 and Mecablitz 50 AF-1.

The Metz Mecablitz 58 AF-2, successor to the 58 AF-1 model, comes with a metal hotshoe base and a ?quick lock system? (except Sony-fit version).

Other improvements include a ?revised motor zoom mode? and a feature that allows off-camera flash using cameras ?without a master function? – triggered instead by the camera?s built-in flash.

The £369.99 model has a maximum guide number of 58 and a wideangle diffuser that has been adapted for focal lengths from 12mm (in 35mm viewing angle terms).

Also released is the Mecablitz 50 AF-1 which carries a guide number 50. This costs £229.99.
