Friends of a UK-based photographer who has been missing in Libya for nearly 10 days have launched a Facebook appeal to find him.

Freelance photographer Anton Hammerl went missing on 5 April, along with three other journalists.

The 41-year-old, originally from South Africa and now living in Surrey, is believed to have been captured by Gaddafi loyalists near the oil town of Brega.

?Details of his whereabouts are unknown. Please sign the petition and do whatever you can to ensure his release,? urges the ?Free photographer Anton Hammerl? Facebook page.

?This page is also there to show our support to him, his wife Penny and his two boys.?
