British photographer Paul Conroy, who sustained leg injuries in an attack that killed Sunday Times journalist Marie Colvin, has not yet reached safety, the Foreign Office has said.

NEWS UPDATE 24 FEBRUARY 4.55pm:Rescue efforts to move Conroy out of Syria continue. The Foreign & Commonwealth Office has not updated its information about the photographer since yesterday, suggesting that diplomatic officials are being careful not to jeopardise any operation that may be underway.

In an update to reports received earlier today, an FCO spokesman told Amateur Photographer this afternoon [23 February]: ?All necessary work is being done to repatriate Marie Colvin?s body and ensure Paul Conroy gets to safety.?

Conroy?s whereabouts remain unclear, as the FCO declined to comment further, raising questions as to whether the photographer has, in fact, left Syria.
