A ‘one of a kind’ photo of Marilyn Monroe is among images of film stars and rock legends that have gone on sale at an exhibition in Chelsea, London.
Captured by Bert Stern in 1962 – and entitled Purple Rose – the image is on sale alongside photos of movie stars such as James Dean, Jimi Hendrix, Mick Jagger and Elvis Presley.
The Monroe image, signed by the photographer, is a 15x20in archival inkjet print that has been hand coloured.
It doesn’t come cheap though, carrying a price of £4,364, including VAT and a frame.
Entitled ‘I Want It All’, the exhibition runs until 10 October at The Little Black Gallery, London SW10 OAJ. Tel: 0207 349 9332.
