Britain?s flagship photography institution has accepted that Government funding cuts are ?inevitable? but it plans to make efficiency savings to minimise their impact.

The National Media Museum (NMM) in Bradford, West Yorkshire, was responding to the 3% budget reduction outlined last month by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.

An NMM spokesman told us: ?The National Museum of Science & Industry [owner of the NMM) accepts that, in the current financial circumstances, cuts in grant aid are inevitable.’

He added: ?We?ve been working for six months to prepare for a range of scenarios and to seek efficiencies that can serve to minimise the impact of the cuts and will continue to do so.?

The museum?s future projects are not on a list of specific schemes facing the chop that were announced yesterday by the Treasury, the spokesman said.
