One of the country?s best known galleries, The Photographers? Gallery in London, will next week reveal details of ?major new development plans?.

Established in a converted Lyons Tea Bar in 1971 the gallery prides itself on being ?the first independent gallery in Britain devoted to photography and new media?.

The Photographers? Gallery claims to attract around 500,000 visitors each year.

At the time of writing the gallery would only tell us that Dublin-based architects O?Donnell and Tuomey have been involved in the development.

Full details will be revealed to journalists at a press briefing in central London on Tuesday 4 December.
