Nikon?s D300 and D3 digital SLRs each won a gong at this year?s European awards organised by the Technical Image Press Association (TIPA).

The Nikon D300 won best ?Expert? DSLR, while the D3 clinched the award in the Professional category.

Meanwhile, Canon scooped the top accolade in the Advanced section with its EOS 450D.

The Best Entry-level DSLR title went to Sony?s Alpha 200.

Other winning cameras included the Samsung NV24HD (Best Ultra Compact Digital Camera); Panasonic Lumix FX-500 (Best Digital Compact); Fujifilm S100 FS (Best Superzoom model); Sigma DP1 (Best Prestige Camera); and Casio?s Exilim Pro EX-F1 (Best Imaging Innovation).

The award for Best Entry-level Lens went to Canon?s EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS.

Olympus triumphed in the Expert Lens category with its Zuiko Digital ED 12-60mm f/2.8-4 SWD optic.

And judges voted the Nikon AF-S Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8G ED lens the Best Professional Lens.

Apple?s Aperture 2 secured the award for Best Photo Software and Epson won the Best Expert Photo Printer title with its Stylus Photo R1900.

The awards are voted for by 30 publications across Europe. Amateur Photographer is not a member of TIPA.
