Photographers have been warned not to place orders with online retailer after it issued a statement saying it has ?been forced to temporarily cease trading?.

Among the victims is Peter Gray who said he ordered, and paid for, a £300 Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX5 digital compact camera on 13 June, but has yet to receive it.

Also left out of pocket, so far, is David Reynolds who said he paid £364 to

The Oxfordshire-based business ? which sells cameras, lenses and other photo gear – has sent an email to customers, warning them that it will not be able to meet their order requests.

The email, from the firm?s Online Operations manager Jason McLeish, reads: ?After the loss of key members of staff, Camerabox Limited has been forced to temporarily cease trading.

?We will temporarily cease any new orders and all existing and unfulfilled orders have been cancelled.’

The statement adds: ?Refunds take between 2-14 days or alternatively you can contact your card issuer to issue a dispute and chargeback.?

?Thank you for your co-operation during this difficult period.?

Customers who contact the firm’s sales department now automatically receive this statement. is a family-run business based in Thame.

It was set up in 2004 and despatches items to customers direct from its warehouse.

Items sold include DSLRs, compacts, lenses, camcorders and binoculars, as well as photography accessories, according to the company’s website.
