A 27-year-old has won a EOS 1D Mark IV in a competition dedicated to High Definition (HD) digital DSLR movie-making.
CJ Clarke, who works as picture editor for charity Save the Children, triumphed with his movie Mother and Daughter, beating more than 70 other entries.
The Open Shutter awards, organised by the British Journal of Photography (BJP), is billed as the first competition dedicated to HD DSLR videos.
BJP Editor Simon Bainbridge said: ?The competition rewards those photographers and filmmakers who embrace the new convergence of technology to express their creativity and innovation.
?They are pioneers in an emerging field and we were stunned by the quality, diversity and creativity of the films entered.?
Clarke shot the movie using a Canon EOS 5D Mark II and produced it for the charity School Home Support.
Dominique Green, one of the judges, said: ?It?s an interesting film and is clearly done by a photographer.
It?s one that takes a step towards a new visual language that marries photography and film.?
