The National Media Museum (NMM) has yet to win approval from the Government for its plan to open a base in London.
The NMM, which will continue to be based in Bradford, West Yorkshire, had hoped to make an announcement about its London plans this autumn.
But Amateur Photographer has learnt that this has now been put back until ?early next year?.
Last year we revealed that the museum plans to open a base at London?s Science Museum, as an addition to its home in Bradford.
Though an NMM spokeswoman told us ?a lot of work has been done on the project?, she revealed that the museum is still in discussions with the Government ?about gaining approval for our plan?.
Considered to be Britain’s flagship photography institution, the NMM holds an historic collection of photographs, including the oldest surviving negative created by British photography inventor William Henry Fox Talbot.
The NMM declined to comment further.
The NMM’s trustees include Michael G Wilson, co-producer of James Bond films including Quantum of Solace.
