‘Performing for the Camera’ will feature more than 500 images from the past 150 years.
Curated by Simon Baker, the show aims to engage visitors with the ‘serious business of art and performance, as well as the humour and improvisation of posing for the camera’.

Tate Modern adds: ‘The construction of self-identity and posing is explored through iconic works by Claude Cahun, Man Ray and Cindy Sherman, as well as more recent projects like Samuel Fosso’s ‘African Spirits 2008’, in which the artist photographs himself in the guise of iconic figures like Martin Luther King Jr and Miles Davis.’
The exhibition, which runs until 12 June, takes place at The Eyal Ofer Galleries, located on Level 3 of Tate Modern.
Entry costs from £14.50 (£12.70 concessions).
