A camera disguised as a gun fetched more than £45,000 at auction in Austria on Saturday.
The Enjalbert Photo Revolver de Poche is one of six known surviving examples.
Dating from around 1883 its cylinder contains a magazine mechanism designed to hold ten 16x16mm photographic plates.
It was made by Albert Posso, a gunsmith, for French photographic company Enjalbert.
Also starring at the Westlicht Photographica auction in Vienna was the first Leica M8 ever made. It bowed out for more than £19,000. Proceeds will be donated to Reporters Without Borders, a body that works to improve safety for journalists.
