Former Take That star Robbie Williams has been questioned by Bahamian police in connection with an alleged armed robbery over the weekend of two paparazzi photographers.

It is understood that the photographers, Matt Sanchez of Splash News & Picture Agency and Carlos Mendez, a freelancer, had sneaked onto a beach in the Exuma district on Saturday to take photographs of the singer on holiday. They became embroiled in an argument with Williams’ entourage and later, in the early hours of Sunday morning, the photographers claim that armed men broke into their accomodation and stole photographic equipment worth £15,000.

Superintendent Ellsworth Moss of the Royal Bahamas Police has been quoted as saying that the singer is not considered a suspect, but detectives are understood to be ‘exploring all options’. Two men are currently being held in custody in the Bahamas in connection with the robbery.
