Lord Snowdon has expressed his dislike of photographs of people smiling, preferring to capture laughter in his portraits.
Snowdon was speaking to BBC London as a new exhibition featuring his portraits of the Queen opened in London yesterday.
?I don?t like seeing pictures of people smiling because a smile is a false facial expression? with someone laughing it?s different,? he told the BBC.
The exhibition, Queen Elizabeth II A Photographic Portrait, showcases images from the archive of picture agency Camera Press.
It runs at The Strand Gallery until 9 October and includes work by other famous photographers, including Cecil Beaton.
