A photographer from Spain has won this year?s Terry O?Neill Award for contemporary photography.

Sebastian Liste picked up this year?s title for Urban Quilombo, a project documenting ?extreme living conditions? faced by families in Salvador de Bahia, Brazil.

The winner was named at a private view held at the Hotshoe Gallery in central London last night.

An exhibition runs at the gallery until 15 December after which it moves to the Lucy Bell Gallery in East Sussex from 18-22 December and 28 December-20 January.

The contest takes its name from renowned celebrity photographer Terry O?Neill.

It is open to young photographers across different genres ranging from fine art to landscape photography.
