Independent lens maker Tokina has launched two new lenses in the UK aimed at users of Nikon and Canon digital SLR cameras.

The 35mm f/2.8 Macro Pro DX boasts a macro ratio of 1:1 and a close-focusing distance of 14cm.

When used on digital SLRs with an APS-C sized imaging sensor the 340g optic delivers a viewing angle of 52mm, according to Tokina. The 9-element-in-8-group AT-X M35 Pro DX costs £369.99.

Also fresh out in the UK is the AT-X 11-16mm f/2.8 Pro DX.

Claimed to produce ?super-wide images without fisheye distortion? the newcomer is compatible with Canon and Nikon digital SLRs with an APS-C-sized sensor.

The AT-X 116 Pro DX carries a £489.99 pricetag.

Both lenses feature Tokina?s One-touch Focus Clutch mechanism which allows the photographer to switch between AF and manual focus by ?snapping? the focus ring forward and back.
