Photographer Scott Barbour has won the inaugural Wisden and MCC Cricket Photograph of the Year competition.
Scott, a professional photographer, clinched the title with an image of James Anderson and his England team-mates celebrating the wicket of Australian batsman Brad Haddin during the recent Ashes tour.
He captured the winning image during the Adelaide Test Match.
Chairman of the judging panel Chris Smith said: ?The range of images submitted was very impressive, and it took us far longer than we expected to choose the winner ? not least because the standard was so high.
?There was the odd disagreement, but in the end we all agreed on Scott Barbour?s arresting photograph as the overall winner.’
Photographer Gareth Copley was named runner-up in the contest, which was sponsored by Park Cameras.
Judges included award-winning sports photographer Bob Martin. A feature article about Bob’s work is due to appear in Amateur Photographer?s issue dated 23 April.
