The work of legendary war photographer Philip Jones Griffiths, who died a year ago this week, has yet to find a permanent home, according to a Welsh newspaper.
The Western Mail reports that discussions are taking place over the future of the photographer’s archive which is owned by the Philip Jones Griffiths Foundation.
Famed for his coverage of the Vietnam war, Philip Jones Griffiths lost his battle with cancer last year, aged 72.
It is understood that the Welsh-born photographer had wanted his work to go on display in North Wales. But negotiations stalled because he was reluctant to ‘relinquish control’ over his work.
The legend once told Amateur Photographer that he became hooked on photography after first picking up the magazine when he was just 14.
