The International Photographic Council (IPC) has awarded its annual Hall of Fame Award to Michihiro Yamaki, the chairman and CEO of Sigma Corporation.
Mr Yamaki ? who has been Sigma?s CEO since 2005 – serves as a director of the Photographic Society of Japan and a supervisor of the Japan Camera Institute.
The IPC is a non-governmental organisation of the United Nations which honours renowned contributors to the photographic industry.
Mr Yamaki will receive his award at a ceremony to be held in New York in February.
