Enthusiasts and professionals are invited to enter the Visions of Science & Technology Photographic Awards before it closes on 1 July.

The five main categories are: Action, Close-up, People, Concept and Art.

Awards this year include Best in Show, presented for the best overall picture, and Young Photographer, which is open to those under 18 years of age.

Judges include Professor Raymond Clark, representing the Royal Photographic Society, and TV presenter Dr Adam Hart Davis.

Winners will be invited to an award ceremony to be held at the Royal Society on 20 September where they will scoop £1,000 in cash.

The contest is organised by the Engineering and Technology Board and sponsored by the Science Photo Library.
