Michael’s foundation course gives a thorough grounding for pursuing photography seriously. It covers all aspects of composition, far beyond the idea of simply making a vaguely satisfying image by following so-called rules (least of all the trivialised rule of thirds). It is designed to be the basis for further courses of any kind in photography. The will equip you to create distinctive, meaningful images that express your personal way of seeing, an essential first step on the path to developing your own photographic style.

In partnership with Learning with Experts.com we are offering three AP readers the chance to get on this course for free. It’s very flexible and you can start anytime. Full details here. All you need to do is to submit three of your best winter/snow images, and we will pick three winners to go on the course. Please email your pictures to geoff.harris@ti-media.com, keeping them under 5Mb in size (large WeTransfer or Dropbox or similar downloads will not be accepted). Please also provide your contact details.

NB: The editor’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. The closing date is February 12, at 23.59pm. Good luck!
