\nSigma has officially bolstered its line-up with four new Art and Contemporary lenses at the 2017 CP+ photo trade show in Japan, this week.<\/p>\n
Firstly, it debuted the 14mm f\/1.8 DG HSM Art, billed as the world\u2019s first f\/1.8 aperture wide-angle lens \u2013 featuring the same well-received aspherical optical design as the older 12-24mm f\/4 Art. With what Sigma claim is the biggest glass mold in the industry (80mm), the 14mm f\/1.8 ought to provide very little distortion, ghosting or flare effects, combined with an updated autofocus system and minimum focus distance of 10.6 inches.<\/p>\n\n
The 135mm f\/1.8 DG HSM Art, meanwhile, enters the market as Sigma\u2019s new top-of-the-line midrange telephoto prime offering. A new, faster hyper sonic motor (HSM) should mean quicker AF, with the shallow f\/1.8 aperture delivering pleasing bokeh and isolation of subjects \u2013 great for capturing subjects like concerts and sporting events. Equipped with a focus limiter, the 135mm f\/1.8 should be easy to optimize for a variety of distances and situations.<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/Sigma-135mm-f1.8-536x400.jpg\")

In an update to their previous 24-70mm workhorse lens, a new 24-70mm f\/2.8 DG HSM OS Art features new optical design elements such as thicker centre glass and new OS to provide a versatile experience shooting a variety of subjects. The lens\u2019 purpose-built structure includes a new metal barrel for improved durability, and erosion-resistant materials.<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/Sigma-24-74mm-e1487676907999-400x400.jpg\")

And finally, Sigma announced the 100-400mm f\/5-6.3 DG HSM OS Contemporary, a lightweight telephoto zoom that boasts a dust- and splash-proof design, newly released stabilisation and AF systems and good performance at low shutter speeds. The new lenses will support Canon, Nikon and Sigma mounts \u2013 and work with Sigma\u2019s MC-11 Sony E-mount converter. The Nikon mounts also feature the recently debuted new electromagnetic diaphragm. Though there\u2019s no word yet on cost, pricing and availability information for all four lenses is due to be announced at a later date.<\/p>\n\n
