APOY 2013 Competition Round 1 – Portraits in Artificial Light

\nWe had some great entries for the first
\nround of APOY 2013, as we reveal the top 30 photographs from our
\nPortraits in Artificial Light round<\/p>\n

<\/img>Gary Burrows<\/strong>, of
\nScarborough in North Yorkshire, is the winner of our Portraits in
\nArtificial Light round of APOY 2013. Gary will receive a Panasonic
\nLumix DMC-G5 plus a Leica DG Summilux 25mm f\/1.4 Asph lens, worth a
\ntotal of \u00a31,347.98. The G5 is a compact system camera with a
\n16.05-million-pixel, four thirds, Live MOS sensor. It has 6fps
\nhigh-speed continuous shooting, a 3in, 920,000-dot articulated LCD
\ntouchscreen and a 1.44-million-dot EVF. The Leica DG Summilux 25mm
\nf\/1.4 Asph lens has a bright f\/1.4 maximum aperture that provides
\nsuperb image quality with minimum distortion, plus a beautiful soft
\nfocus.

Our second-placed
\nwinner is Julian Fraser<\/strong>, of Newton Abbot in Devon, who will receive a
\nPanasonic Lumix DMC-LX7, worth \u00a3469.99. The LX7 is a high-spec
\ncompact camera with a 10.1-million-pixel, High-Sensitivity MOS
\nsensor, f\/1.4-2.3 (24-90mm equivalent) Leica Vario-Summilux lens and
\nfull manual control.<\/p>\n

\nGeorge Fisk<\/strong>, of Seasalter in Kent,
\nfinished third in the round and wins a Panasonic Lumix DMX-XS1 worth
\n\u00a3119.99. Panasonic claims that the 16.1-million-pixel XS1 has the
\nworld’s slimmest body profile, and it’s certainly skinny at only 14mm
\ndeep. With its 5x optical zoom with 24mm ultra-wideangle lens and
\ntiny form, the XS1 is the ultimate carry-it-with-you-everywhere
\ncamera.<\/p>\n
