The rare image of the former Cuban leader with the iconic revolutionary was captured off the shores of Havana in May 1960.<\/p>\n

The 14.25×16.25in gelatin silver print fetched \u00a34,300 including buyer’s premium.<\/p>\n

Two years ago, a print of the same image bowed out for \u00a36,600<\/a> (hammer price).<\/p>\n

The photo was among 55 vintage images from a collection belonging to the photographer’s daughter, Norka Korda.<\/p>\n

However, 10 of the 30 lots failed to sell at the time of yesterday’s sale, leaving the Gloucestershire auctioneers, Dominic Winter, initially disappointed.<\/p>\n

Auctioneer Chris Albury has since told Amateur Photographer<\/em> that he hopes to sell more of the photos over the next few days, including a portrait <\/a>of a girl with a wooden doll, said to be Korda’s favourite image.<\/p>\n

In total, the archive raised \u00a333,000 including buyers’ premium.<\/p>\n
