If you\u2019re a keen wildlife photographer the last few years have seen a renaissance in third-party lens manufacture with a number of high quality, innovative and indeed affordable lens releases. While not all lenses in this movement are low cost, some are premium options, one lens that has taken the photography world by storm thanks to its affordable price and excellent overall value is the Tamron SP 150-600mm f\/5-6.3 Di VC USD G2. This lens provides full-frame and APS-C DSLR users a focal range that truly brings distant subjects within photographic reach.<\/span><\/p>\n

The original Tamron SP 150-600mm f\/5-6.3 Di VC USD\u00a0was announced in 2013 after Sigma had announced its own two versions of a lens with the same focal length. Both manufacturers have seen incredible success with these lenses, thanks to their ability to put professional telephoto focal lengths in the hands of enthusiasts. While long primes will remain a staple for professionals shooting wildlife, the Tamron SP 150-600mm f\/5-6.3 Di VC USD G2 announced in 2016, is set to impress the photographic world, much like its predecessor.<\/span><\/p>\n\"\"\n

The new model features an exterior design in keeping with Tamron\u2019s current lens line-up and includes improved overall ergonomics. In the new version, Tamron has improved several significant features including AF speed and accuracy, and also vibration compensation which now provides up to 4.5-stops of compensation allowing you to shoot at slower shutter speeds.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Tamron SP 150-600mm f\/5-6.3 Di VC USD G2 features everything you need to take fantastic images of still and moving subjects in a range of conditions. It offers three Image Stabilisation modes for different types of shooting, the front element is both water and oil repellent making it easier to wipe clean, although the large included lens hood will offer a great deal of protection when attached to the front of the lens. There are also leak-proof seals along the lens barrel that should offer a degree of protection from dust and moisture.<\/span><\/p>\n
