Sigma has unveiled a USB Dock that attaches to a computer, allowing photographers to update lens firmware and fine-tune focus and other parameters to suit their needs.<\/p>\n
The user connects the lens to a computer, using the USB Dock, and can adjust variables via \u2018easy-to-operate’ on-screen controls.<\/p>\n
The software includes a focus limiter, customisable for sports lenses, according to Sigma.
\nThe system uses new software called Sigma Optimization Pro.<\/p>\n
Sigma has also used photokina to debut a new 17-70mm f\/2.8-4 DC Macro OS HSM zoom.<\/p>\n
The lens includes three aspherical lenses, plus a double-sided aspherical lens.<\/p>\n
It boasts a minimum focusing distance of 22cm and maximum magnification ratio of 1:2.9.
\nAlso on the horizon is a new 35mm f\/1.4 DG HSM.<\/p>\n
It features a nine-blade diaphragm, an FLD glass element, plus four SLD lenses to help reduce aberration.<\/p>\n
Sigma has also redesigned its 120-300mm f\/2.8 DG OS HSM lens.<\/p>\n
\u2018It has new weather sealing and is compatible with the new USB Dock so users can customise features such as micro AF adjustments, focusing speed and focus limiter,’ said a UK spokesman.
