We are pleased to announce the launch of Amateur Photographer of the Year 2021 (APOY).<\/a> Now running for almost 40 years, APOY was the first contest of its kind and \u2013 we believe \u2013 the best. Our first round, which opens today, is Black and White<\/a>.<\/p>\n

With its varied categories, there should be a round for you, no matter what you like to shoot. You might choose to enter just one category or enter them all with the aim of taking home the main prize and, of course, the title of Amateur Photographer of the Year 2021.<\/p>\n

The competition is open to all amateur photographers* and we have again teamed up with Photocrowd, who will be hosting the competition on a simple and intuitive platform.<\/p>\n

Not only will your work be seen by a panel of experienced judges, but it\u2019s also a brilliant way of getting your photos in front of a wider audience.<\/p>\n

Providing an amazing \u00a311,000 worth of prizes this year is MPB, the online platform for used photography kit.<\/p>\n

The winner of each round will receive a \u00a3500 voucher for gear from MPB, and we have second and third-placed prizes of \u00a3100 and \u00a350 vouchers respectively. The overall winner will receive a voucher for \u00a31,000.<\/p>\n\t\t

Winners can use the vouchers to buy a huge range of kit<\/p>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\n

Plus, this year, we have two new categories. Under-21s can enter the Young Amateur Photographer of the Year, with each category winner receiving a \u00a3250 voucher for MPB, and the overall winner being awarded a \u00a3500 voucher.<\/p>\n\t\t

*For the purposes of this competition, an amateur photographer is defined as someone who earns 10% or less of their income from photography or photographic services.<\/p>\n
