He joined the prestigious Magnum agency in1965, set up the famous School of Documentary Photography in Newport in 1973 and bequeathed his enormous collection of \u201cswapped\u201d prints to the National Museum Cardiff in 2019. He began his career in 1955 at the Reflex Agency as an assistant. In 1965 he joined Magnum as an associate member, becoming a full member in 1967. In 1973 he set up the famous School of Documentary Photography in Newport, Wales. Today, he continues to live, and work from, his home in Tintern, Wales.
