If you have some good images, the search is on to find the next winner of Close-up Photographer of the Year (CUPOTY), in association with Affinity Photo. You have until 23 May 2021 to enter the competition and be in with a chance of winning a cash prize of \u00a32,500.<\/p>\n\t\t<div  class=\"c-caption aligncenter\" style=\"max-width: 607px\">\n\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"146379\" src=\"https:\/\/other.kelsey.host\/amateurphotographer\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/\u00a9-Andrei-Savitsky-Glassworm-CUPOTY-587x400.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"587\" height=\"400\" \/>\t\t\t<p class=\"c-caption__text\">\u00a9 Andrei Savitsky-Glassworm<\/p>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\n<p>This annual competition, co-founded by former AP staffer and regular contributor, Tracy Calder, showcases the best close-up, macro and micro photography from around the world. The competition is open to everyone, using any type of camera, phone or light microscope.<\/p>\n\t\t<div  class=\"c-caption aligncenter\" style=\"max-width: 650px\">\n\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"146380\" src=\"https:\/\/other.kelsey.host\/amateurphotographer\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/\u00a9-Tamas-KONCZ-BISZTRICZ-Little-Ball-CUPOTY-630x354.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"630\" height=\"354\" \/>\t\t\t<p class=\"c-caption__text\">\u00a9 Tamas KONCZ-BISZTRICZ-Little Ball<\/p>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\n<p>There are nine categories in all: Animals, Insects, Butterflies &amp; Dragonflies (new), Underwater (also new), Plants &amp; Fungi, Intimate Landscape, Manmade and Micro, as well as Young CUPOTY for entrants aged 17 or under.<\/p>\n<p>This year the total prize fund has been boosted to \u00a35,300, with the overall winner receiving \u00a32,500 in cash (plus a trophy) and each category winner taking home \u00a3300 in cash, with the exception of Young Close-up Photographer of the Year 03 who will receive a Sigma 105mm f2.8 DG DN MACRO Art lens worth \u00a3700, USB Dock and a trophy.<\/p>\n\t\t<div  class=\"c-caption aligncenter\" style=\"max-width: 287px\">\n\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"146381\" src=\"https:\/\/other.kelsey.host\/amateurphotographer\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/\u00a9-Galice-Hoarau-Eel-Larva-CUPOTY-267x400.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"267\" height=\"400\" \/>\t\t\t<p class=\"c-caption__text\"><br \/>\u00a9 Galice Hoarau: Eel Larva<\/p>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\n<p>The judging panel for CUPOTY 03 includes award-winning photographers, magazine journalists, conservationists and authors. Judging will take place in July, with the results announced in September. A selection of the winners and shortlisted entries will appear in AP.<\/p>\n<p>Last year the competition attracted more than 6,500 entries, from 52 countries.
