The response to the opening rounds of APOY 2021<\/a>\u00a0was huge, but we\u2019ve only just started!<\/p>\n

With its varied categories, there should be a round for you, no matter what you like to shoot. You might choose to enter just one category or enter them all with the aim of taking home the main prize and, of course, the title of Amateur Photographer of the Year 2021.<\/p>\n

The competition is open to all amateur photographers* and we have again teamed up with Photocrowd<\/a>, who will be hosting the competition on a simple and intuitive platform.<\/p>\n

This year we have two new categories. Under-21s can enter the Young Amateur Photographer of the Year, with each category winner receiving a \u00a3250 voucher for MPB, and the overall winner being awarded a \u00a3500 voucher.<\/p>\n

Finally, there\u2019s a camera club category, where you can accumulate points for your society. The most successful club will receive a voucher for \u00a3500.<\/p>\n

*For the purposes of this competition, an amateur photographer is defined as someone who earns 10% or less of their income from photography or photographic services<\/em><\/p>\n\"\"\n

Home is where the art is<\/strong>
\nFor round three, which opens today on our partner Photocrowd’s site, we are looking for your best images on the theme of ‘Home’. We\u2019ve all had plenty of opportunity to hone our home-photography skills over the past few months.<\/p>\n\t\t

All that\u2019s needed to create a creative still life such as this one, is a lightbox and some imagination<\/p>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\n

Anything taken at home is fair game here, whether that\u2019s portraits of your nearest and dearest (including pets), food, close-ups, flowers from the garden, and beyond to include more creative and unusual skills such as abstracts and smoke trails. This is a broad subject with 1000s of different possibilities \u2013 it just needs to have been taken in your home. This round closes on April 16th and we wish you the best of luck.<\/p>\n

The winner of each round of APOY receives a \u00a3500 voucher to spend on anything at MPB.
