Available in Sony E and Leica L mounts, the Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG DN Art promises top-notch optics, fast quiet AF, and a comprehensive set of physical controls.<\/p>\n<p>The firm says that the new optic has been completely redesigned compared to its existing 35mm f\/1.4, which was originally designed\u00a0 for full-frame DSLRs. It\u2019s based on a 15-element, 11 group design with an array of special elements to minimise aberrations: one \u2018F\u2019 Low Dispersion glass (FLD), one Extra-Low Dispersion (ELD), two Special Low Dispersion (SLD) and 2 aspherical elements. In particular, longitudinal chromatic aberration is said to be minimised, as is coma, which should make the lens appealing for astrophotography.<\/p>\n\t\t<div  class=\"c-caption aligncenter\" style=\"max-width: 620px\">\n\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/other.kelsey.host\/amateurphotographer\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Sigma_35mm_f14_dg_dn_a021.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"148400\" src=\"https:\/\/other.kelsey.host\/amateurphotographer\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Sigma_35mm_f14_dg_dn_a021-600x400.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a>\t\t\t<p class=\"c-caption__text\">The Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG DN Art mounted on the Sigma fp<\/p>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\n<p>Autofocus employs a stepping motor that drives a single lightweight element, which promises rapid, silent focusing. There\u2019s a focus mode switch on the lens barrel, along with an AFL button whose function is customisable from the camera body. Also on board is a declickable aperture ring that can be locked at any setting.<\/p>\n<p>As we\u2019d expect at this level, the lens features a dust and splash-proof design that includes a rubber seal around the mount, along with a water and oil-repellent coating on the front element. A petal-type hood is included in the box, complete with a push-button lock. Physically the lens is similar in size to its DSLR predecessor, at 76mm in diameter and 110mm in length. It weighs 645g, and accepts 67mm filters.
